Ian Doig is Chair of Merchiston Districts Community Council (MDCC). He also represents MDCC on SW Edinburgh Community Grants Panel and on Community Policing Forums. As MDCC Chair, his interests cover Community Engagement and Participation, Public Safety and Policing, Environmental Issues, Controlled Parking Zones, and Modernisation of Public Services to align with changing public demands and financial pressures.
Previous governance roles include: National Trust for Scotland Board, SEPA Board, National Records of Scotland Board, Care Inspectorate Board, Scottish Social Services Council Board, Scottish Court Services, and Edinburgh College. Ian is a Chartered Accountant by profession, specialising in public services finance, governance and risk-management.
