City of Edinburgh Council has just launched its Eurocities website -

Edinburgh has been chosen to host the Eurocities Conference in November 2018, welcoming the Mayors and city delegations of the 130 Eurocities’ member cities, stretching right across Europe, both EU and non-EU countries.  This is only the third time in Eurocities’ 30 years’ history that the conference has been hosted in the UK, and it is of course taking place at a critical time in Europe.

The theme ‘Creative Competitive Cities’ – looking at how culture and creative industries can support,  add value and transform cities – offers an excellent opportunity to showcase Edinburgh, to learn from peers across Europe and build on city to city relations.

There are opportunities for engagement in the Conference as a delegate, a sponsor, or perhaps in terms of showcasing particular projects related to the theme.  This is a unique occasion for the city.

Delegates are being encouraged to stay on in the city for the weekend.  And for the first time ever, a Youth Ambassador programme will weave throughout the conference, offering a young person’s perspective on creative places, culture and future urban policy.

Please share this with members of your community council and other related organisations.

EACC belongs to every Edinburgh Community Council

Its aim is to provide support, advise and give a collective voice for community councils when facing the challenges community councillors encounter on an almost daily basis. No one person is more important than any other. All community councils have a voice on the EACC!!
